Allergy & Safety
Although our products are intended to be made with only polyurethane, and no latex, there is no way to confirm that anything is 100% latex free, as latex can transfer onto items during production via air or touch within our supply chain. Always ask your clients if they have known latex allergies. For beaded installations, we do not advise that your client perform an MRI with aluminum beads. Although the aluminum alloy is non-ferromagnetic, it is still metallic and can lead to thermal burns. We advise to remove the beads before any MRI. DeadBeads™ contain silicone liners.
Color Notice
Although our production team has a stringent color match quality control system in place, please note that hair is an organic material, and is colored by hand. It is not a perfect science. There are slight color differences in batches, and it is common in the extension industry. If you feel the color is too far from expectation, or unworkable (remember, you can custom color) please contact hello@dropdeadextensions.com to initiate a return, in accordance with our return policy. Colored extensions from Drop Dead will not fade or bleed. Any brassiness is usually always caused by hard water found within the client’s water supply as hard metals and minerals cause blondes to become warm and is not a sign of poor color quality from our production team, as our team uses permanent, nonfading, non-bleeding, thermal-safe solutions.
Most, if not nearly all hair extensions, are sourced from regions of the world where the natural hair color is dark brown and black, ie Asia and India. The extensions are cleaned, processed, lightened, colored, and/or toned to acheive colors other than dark brown or black. This means that all light colors are subsequently more processed and lightened that the darker colors. Because of this, the lifespan of lighter colors may differ from the darker colors. We do not recommend or encourage you to further lighten any extensions. We also advise you to never darken the extensions more than 2 levels, as some color products will significantly damage the hair and the cuticles.
Quality Guarantee
Drop Dead guarantees the quality of its products for 90 days from the date of purchase. If you experience any unnatural tangling, premature breakage, or excessive shedding with your extensions during this 90-day period, please reach out to hello@dropdeadextensions.com and explain the issues. We will send you a shipping label to return the hair for inspection. If the inspection reveals quality issues, you can choose to receive a refund or exchange, up to the amount you paid, minus tax and shipping costs. Please note that any hair extensions that have undergone chemical alterations, such as lightening, are not covered by this guarantee, unless there is indisputable evidence of a manufacturing error. Chemical processing and improper hair care and products containing protein can significantly affect the hair's integrity, cuticle, moisture levels, and more. With proper care and maintenance, Drop Dead hair extensions typically have a lifespan of 12+ months, depending on the extent of color treatment. The lightest colors (10N, 10V, 10S) are very processed and may result in a shorter lifespan of 6 to 9 months. Our production team grades the hair to last for 2-3 years, but we don’t want to mislead you and instead give more true to life expectations.
Return Policy
Please note that we do not provide refunds; only exchanges in the form of store credit. Visit returns.dropdeadhair.com to start your return. After we receive your request, we will send you a printable return label via email. Please carefully pack the hair and put it in either a mailer envelope or box. Print out the provided return label and take it to the nearest shipping retailer that corresponds with the shipper shown on the return label. After we have received your returned hair, a customer service representative will send you an email to confirm its receipt. If for whatever reason you do not hear from a service representative, please reach out. If your return qualifies for an exchange, we will provide you with store credit for the amount you paid, deducting taxes and shipping costs. You will receive an email containing a code that you can use for future purchases, or a notification that you have credits to use in your account.
Lifespan
Drop Dead extensions will last 12+ months with proper care. A complimentary care guide is included inside each pack to help your client acheive the longest life of the extensions. It is recommended to give this care guide to your client and review it with them regularly. Please consult with your client to reach out to you for any concerns. Ensure your client does not use any products containing protein or keratin, including vegan variations, as protein overload will block the cuticle from absorbing moisture and the hair will be prone to damage and breakage. The lightest colors (10N, 10V, 10S) are very processed and may result in a shorter lifespan of 6 to 9 months. Although our production team grades the hair to last for 2-3 years, we prefer to instead give more true to life expectations. Move-ups and maintenance should be performed every 6-12 weeks, depending on stylist preference.
Color Key
Drop Dead colors are named according to the language of stylists: level and tone. Numbers represent the level, while letters indicate the tone. Letters in parenthesis indicate the color style.
Numbers 1 through 10 represent the level, while the following letters represent the tone:
N = Natural
V= Violet
S= Silver
R = Red
B = Brown
C= Copper
G = Gold
Letters within parenthesis represent style of color placement:
(R) = Rooted
The "R" within parenthesis indicates “rooted”, and the subsequent number indicates the root color. All Drop Dead colors have a shallow 0.5” root color, to a beautifully seamless 4.5” melt. This allows artists the freedom to bring the root color down when customization is needed, or leave as is. All rooted colors are considered “Balayages”, the R with the subsequent number is to add clarity around what the root color of the bundle is.
(B) = Balayage
Balayage indicates that the bundle contains a root color that is seamlessly melted into one, two, or three other color combinations. Each color combination is a 10mm wide across the weft, giving a highlight/lowlight look for dimension, sometimes also considered a piano.
*In essence, rooted and balayage essentially are always used together to describe the hair. So for example, the color option “(R) 1N - (B) 2N/3N/4N” would be interpreted as a bundle that has a root color 1 natural, into a balayage (melt) tri-color piano blend of level 2 natural, level 3 natural, and level 4 natural. Each color is 10mm in width, creating a dimensional highlight/lowlight look.
(SS) = Seam Shade
Seam shade indicates that the seam color of the weft is different than the hair color itself. Because many artists custom color blonde hair to other colors, and the polyurethane seam of the SuperWeft does not easily absorb color, we created a Seam Shade, which means the seam is pre-colored. The number following the (SS) indicates the color of the polyurethane seam, while the number and letter after the dash indicate the color and tone of the hair.
*So for example, the color option (SS)1 - 10N would indicate that the hair bundle has a level 1 (black) polyurethane seam, and the hair is color 10N. The color option (SS)5 - 10N would indicate that the hair bundle has a level 5 (medium brown) polyurethane seam, and the hair is color 10N.
